Mason and McGrath did donate

It was recently brought to my attention that soon to be re-appointed City Marshal Rick Mason did in fact donate to the Democratic Party and so did Councilman Kevin McGrath, who is an enrolled Conservative but ran twice with the Democrat’s blessing.
It’s an issue because Mason filed a formal complaint with the Rensselaer County District Attorney Rich McNally that claims Tom Wade, the party’s county chair, tried to shake him down for a donation and when Mason refused is when Wade started lobbying the Council against re-appointing Mason to the part time job.
The filings listing Mason’s $100 donation can be seen here and McGrath’s $175 donation and $85 donation can be seen here.

I’m not sure of the significance of either donation considering candidates and appointees are expected to donate something to the party, but I’m just making an observation – or better yet, passing one along.
I was just told the dust-up between Wade and Mason about campaign contributions and about a month before last November's election, and it was just pointed out to me that Mason's $100 donation came on Nov. 6, 2011. Not sure what that has to do with anything, but I'm just passing along another observation.

McRath & Icky only donated for the kids.
Really Jim news must be sparce
WOW Barry White went for $100!
There is a timing issue here. The initial donations does not change the fact that other donations could have been spurned and created the problems.
Further proof that Mason is a liar. What "criminal" activity will he fabricate next? Wade is right about this guy.
Jim, you ought to start printing some new material. Maybe try reading your emails from people other than Mason and McGrath?
Mason taught Wade a lesson.......can't shake down Mason, Wade, cuz he'll donate anyway......WOW you really can't make it up!
tom...give them their money back. the democratic party has more class than to take money from these two.
Tom Wade is loosing his mind. He cant even control a Marshal job in his own home town. How do we expect him to get any real job with the governor? He cant because Cuomo hates him. We need change in the leadership of the party.
Word is Russ Reeves and the police Cheif are being pushed out the door by The Nice Guys.
The master plan for the city is to push everyone out & let Bill Dunne take their salaries!
Shows you the Democratic party's priorities: shaking down people for cash instead of reopening Campbell's Avenue.
Ah yes, the pitter patter of little feet entering the baseball diamond. Quite the sound it is it is. Little guys also help produce a good headline.
The good the bad and the ugly
the us attorney started the calls today. I hope everyone can answer under oath what wade said to them. lol
Masterson Masterson Masterson
well you should see what mr reeves has to look out right outside his door each day
What does Tom Wade have to do with Campbell Avenue?
really? who cares- the issue is that they're both criminals.
The US Attorney would not be involved at this point, if at all.
Jim,
I think this story is played-out and, frankly, horrendously dull. I'm sure people would like to hear some more about the Mitchell lawsuit, what Vic Christopher did and whether or not criminal charges can be brought and finally, the more recent suit where some of Tutunjian's people are suing the city for pay hikes promised but not received.
We are starting to see more of the soft, flabby and ugly underside of the previous administration. It could be a good story or two and much more interesting than the Mason-Wade-McGrath saga.
I hear m mcgrath has made a deal with wade to run as a dem for county leg for his no vote on mason.ask the minority leader if you dont believe. I wonder what the us attorney will say to all this. its coming!
thats mcgraths slam piece u want us to ask?
Kevin is a good guy he's a guy that listens to you and then will do his best to address the problem ,,,I don't care about anyone past that's there past and we need to move foreword,, and that's direction Kevin is going and as a city business man I like that from Kevin he's there to help everyone one from every back round,,,so Mr wade please stop the assault on your party it's not a good thing for us democrats let's work together and clean up our city it's a mess and there enough blame to go around for all of us ,,,we need to clean up some of these properties that are a eyesore in our city that's bringing all the misfits to our city,,,
Jim....
Some of these comments are accurate, you should stop waiting for stories to trickle into the "Record". It seems if they're willing to sell the building, the handrighting may be on the wall. Go dig up some new news, this re-hashing of the garbage is getting as boring as the comments. You will need a scrap book to take with you. Outside of your column and maybe one other reporter, there are 2 right, the paper seems to be coasting into past history. Guys like J. Peerless McGrath must be rolling over in their graves.
Is there a new baby on the rock?
who had a baby?
