Wade beats the Wabbit

Well, it wasn’t that close and honestly the process was pretty boring.
WADE
I’m referring to the Democratic organizational meeting where Chair Tom Wade remained chair by a pretty significant margin, a weighted vote of 15,273.5 to 10,376.5, over his challenger Robert “Rabbit” Riley.
It’s kind of hard to figure how many committee members that represents because the weighted vote is based on a convoluted formula but safe to say Wade won, and he won by a pretty good margin.
It’s hard to follow as the roll call is read along with the weighted vote but it apparently came down to the proxies with the Wade camp - which includes Wade himself, Schodack town Chair Elizabeth Gable, Troy City Chair Jack McCann and Sue Steele, though her name wasn’t on any, getting more proxies than the other guys.
The last proxy stands and there were two turned in by some committee members that broke for both sides. In other words, there were four Wade and company stole from Riley and two Riley and company stole from Wade – at least as near as I could figure.
In the end, Wade upset some Democrats and they tried to take him out with Riley. It didn’t work. We’ll have to see how it all plays out.
More on this tomorrow or over the weekend.

Wades fear mongering techniques and back room deals win again. When will Dems no longer fear this thug and do the right thing? It makes me sick they allow him to rein with no real goal of moving forward. It was an unfortunate and coerced vote, and things will get worse for Rensco.

11:31 -- as a Republican, I was really pulling for Riley to win. Wade has kicked our behinds, and put up more appealing candidates since 2007. He's won everything city and county. I was hoping to see Riley, Campana, LoPorto, Aldrich (please), Zelewski, and McGrath (black sheep)take over. That would have been a hoot for us, and an embarrassment for the D party, and their more honest members, during the next phase of voter fraud trials to have that type of leadership at the top. Tom is a proven winner in my book. I don't like him - but I respect what he's accomplished. Our stupidity comes from the leadership of the party on the county level. Puppets running things, and same ol same ol nasty, dirty politics. The nail has almost been driven home. With the Delusional Bunch consisting of felons, and soon to be felons, the nail would come out again. With Tom at the helm, I'm not so sure. Be careful what you wish for.

Sounds like Zalewski formed a committee to discuss the party chairmanship. And as usual his committee failed to provide any tangible results. Ken talks a good name, but that is where it ends. My favorite Zalewskism is when he says he was the most outspoken person about the Democrats who committed voter fraud.Really? So what did he do? He aligns himself with Loporto and Kevin McGrath in the Rabbit/Wade battle.

What's incredible @4:27 is that there are so many cowards among the Democratic committee! You say nothing about Wade & Steele's strong arm tactics - basically threatening people if they didn't vote for Tom. It disgusts me! Sue Steele should not have been involved in any of it seeing that she works for a State agency! What about that? Oh, I forgot the rules don't apply to her or Wade. Riley may not have experience as a political operative, but he is a kind person who would never treat or threaten people the way that Wade does on a daily basis. Itwould have been refreshing to have a person who would listen to people and try to unite the Democrats in Renss. County. More importantly, he would bring respect back to the Party.

Please stop trying to paint those of us who voted for Tom Wade as "coerced." We weren't. We carefully considered our options: a person with many years of experience and connections and the ability to pick a winning candidate (sorry Clem and Keith - you would both would have gotten your butts kicked) but who has a "dark side" or - another OLD guy - who supported Republicans and has a conflict of interest because of his position with his union - who has no track record of being able to pick candidates, run campaigns or bringing our party forward.

If you want to take the party in another direction, do your homework, find a better candidate and bring him or her to us from a place of strength, don't bring us the only guy you could get to run because you are pissed off and angry RIGHT NOW. Give us a reason to vote FOR your guy, not just against Tom Wade. We are all aware of Wade's temperament. We voted for his skills as politician, not for him to be "Miss Congeniality."

You lost. The rest of the committee is not as pissed off with Wade as you want us to be. Get over it. Stop insulting your fellow Democrats, stop whining and stop with the sour grapes. Get your butts out onto the streets and use that energy to get Democrats elected from President Obama to our regional Congress critters, state Senators and Assembly members and our judicial candidates.

Tom Wade isn't the enemy - the GOP is. Don't forget that.

Another Committeeman

The fear mongering tactics in Chair race were entirely by Riley "coalition". They told lies and did divisive, desperate acts to get votes but they came up way short. Wade was a gentleman and invited Riley forward...let's see if Riley lives the unity he preached. All his supporters left before the meeting even ended...

@ 8:47 That's what's wrong with troy politics. It's about who is better at hating the other side more. Whether the other side be one of his fellow democrat or other party member. Stop kidding yourself wade is not a skilled politician, he's a mean spirited politician who is the beneficiary of having extremely weak opposition.

Wade and his current club are the lesser of evils and the residents of troy are suffering for it, Oh I forget who cares about them!

Was this another Kenny Zzzz Boast or can we all look forward to a future without this self-centered, do-nothing, dis-loyal worthless & delusional clown of a councilman?!?!

What a comedy of errors..By the time Dan Ashley got done talking about Bumstead and the old days I didn't know if he was nominating Rabbit or himself..Thank God he is gone although I doubt Ed Casino will do much better. CB Gadfly Smith continues his oh fer the century streak of backing the losing side. The tiny Napolean from EG got his butt kicked right along with Gadfly and Keith the happy time bus driver..They are like the island of misfit toys, please stay on the island and let the rest of us get back to trying to elect good candidates like Roberts, Andrews and O'Connor..Believe me NONE of them wanted the Greenbushes misfits in control, none of them..

Sue Steele, Jack McCann, Mike O'Brien and Jim Conroy - great Dems just looking out for everyone else (after they get theirs of course). You should all talk the facts and stop the self-absorbed rhetoric.

Facts: Wade gets saved from indictment after allegedly threatening BOEs unless they contribute. And, yes, they should contribute but not upon threat of any nature. McDonough releases the infamous memo to others and Wade skates because Robinson never appeared before GJ. Wade annouces McDonough will be done. Wade brings McInereny back into party to work for him on elections after being fired from NYS Leg because of sexual harassment of woman employee given raise over him - and then a gay male employee. Hard to get fired under Silver. Wade threatens mcDonough and Mary Sweeney that he will show them the door from BOE after they vote for Mahoney v. him. McInerney gets Troy City Council majority elected with voter fruad and gets appointed City Clerk AT WADES DIRECTION as payment for same. Next year, McInerney steals DA race with voter fraud. In repayment, when voter fraud is uncovered by Mirch - the same man who in years before was involved with Renna and others in performing for Dems - somehow the entire NYS investigation centered correctly on J Brown and Mcinerney gets turned and focused solely against McDonough and, as a throw-in, LoPorto. Clear from lips of key witnesses that there was NO evidence against LoPorto and insufficient evidence against McDonough for indictment. Wade has hand in keeping Mcdonough from walking in GJ by keeping him out of GJ. Hum. Wade loses all county-wide elections. Wade takes all credit for mayor and council wins - forgets it was the heavy TROY Dem voters that did that. Wade can't get a win in the county or the towns, especially his biggest support base - Nassau and Schodack. Wade cannot raise funds - he had about 50 show at fundraiser, including Carmella Mantello! Wade has no organizational skills. Wade has no ability to get quality candidates. Wade has deal with Jimino - a few minor jobs for no opponent. Wade gets Renna's daughter a job because of his efforts - that we now now are voter fraud. Wade is the most devisive, vindictive and petty person in the party. Wade tries to get McInerney a job after he commits literally thousands of vote fraud felonies.

Now, McDonough helps Wade gets by with about 10 votes including a number that switched because of implied threats. And, the few who have a vested interest in him staying in place immediately start the name calling and crowing.

What a joke and what a pyrrhic victory.

Fact - About 90% wanted Wade out - but no one wanted the job. So we need to thank Riley for stepping up.

Wade now has about 10% support to run a divided party.

THIS WILL BE FUN TO WATCH.

Tom Wade, Please make your #1 Priority to see that Zalewski loses that $100,000+ job in the Republican Senate! He is not a Democrat and has no sense of Party loyalty! He has gone on the record stating he will work to protect himself rather than work for his fellow Democrat candidates. He's all about Kenny and desrves to lose that Plum of a job and does not deserve to be the Democratic Nominee for District 5 in the next election!

Tom Wade, please do not consider nominating candidates, for the next City Council Election, like Kevin Mcgrath. How a convicted Major Drug Dealing Felon went unvetted is a disgrace. Additionally, candidates like Wiltshire, Zalewski & Nichols who put themselves before the interests of the Party need to be ignored in the Nomination!!
